Almost every peeling wall in this country failed at the primer or on a surface that was still damp. The topcoat gets the blame and the credit, and deserves neither.

Surface Preparation
Filled, sanded, cleaned and moisture tested. New plaster needs weeks, not days — painting it early guarantees failure later.

The wall has to be dry. There is no way around it.
Fresh cement is strongly alkaline and stays wet far longer than it looks. Paint it too early and the alkali attacks the binder from behind — the wall looks perfect for four months, then blisters in a straight line along the damp course. We meter the moisture before the first coat and will hold the programme rather than paint a wet wall.
