Facade skin and form
Facade Design

The envelope is where a premium building is won or lost.

It is the only part anyone sees from the street, the part that takes 45°C summers and coastal salt, and the part that decides your cooling bill. Three jobs, one skin, and no room for a decorative afterthought.

What this covers

Form, and the joints that hold it together.

A facade fails at its junctions, not in the middle of a panel. We design the geometry and the joint at the same time.

01

Massing & Proportion

Solid to void, horizontal to vertical, and the depth of shadow the elevation needs to read well at midday.

02

Cladding Systems

Stone, GRC, aluminium or render — selected on movement, weight and how each will look after five summers, not five weeks.

03

Glazing

Glass specified by solar gain and glare, not only by tint. The wrong pane turns a beautiful room into an oven by two o’clock.

04

Junction Detailing

Parapets, sills, corners and movement joints drawn large — with thermal expansion and a drainage path in every one.

What you receive

A skin a specialist can fabricate from.

Detailed enough to tender properly, so the quotations you get back are comparable.

Facade Elevations

Every face with panel setting-out, joint lines and material zones.

Typical Details

Head, sill, jamb, corner and parapet at a scale the fabricator can use.

Performance Spec

Thermal, water and wind criteria the installed system has to meet.

Next step

Show us the elevation you have.

We will tell you what it will cost to build, what it will cost to cool, and where it will leak first.
